Technology Specialties

Solar PV

Covesta offers cutting-edge solar PV solutions that have become more affordable than grid-supplied power. Through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), we provide access to cost-effective solar energy, ensuring reliable power and water security. Learn more.

Covesta offers cost-effective micro-wind turbines from multiple manufacturers, priced below $1/W. Small-scale turbines, defined as having diameters under 10 meters, often significantly smaller, overcome the equipment lifespan challenges experienced by larger wind turbines. By harnessing the power of micro-wind both day and night, we provide a sustainable solution for clean energy generation. Learn more.

Wind Turbines

MABR (Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactor)

Rainwater Harvesting Systems

Fuel Cells

We provide fuel cells that offer affordable power generation from various fuels, with minimal emissions. Our fuel cells can be safely operated indoors, emitting no carbon monoxide and producing low levels of NOx and SOx. Learn more.

Geothermal

Covesta's geothermal solutions deliver cost-effective heating and cooling through advanced heat pump technology and drilling techniques. Aligned with the global shift towards electrification, geothermal systems reduce electric loads and overall costs for power, water, and temperature control. Learn more.

Energy Efficient Distillation

Electro-coagulation

Covesta employs water distillation technology, a time-tested and reliable method to purify virtually any contaminated water source. Through distillation, all dissolved solids (TDS) and pathogens are removed and killed by heat and phase change of water. This straightforward one-step process is scalable and can be deployed in small decentralized treatment systems. Soon, standardized, cost-effective distillers of varying capacities will enable decentralized treatment of residential, commercial, and industrial wastewater, providing safe and potable water for reuse. Covesta offers a cost-effective method for removing and capturing metals, nitrogen compounds, and phosphorus from water. Through electro-coagulation, our partner-systems ensure efficient removal for subsequent reuse.

MBR (Membrane Bioreactor) and MABR (Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactor) systems offer cost-effective wastewater treatment to non-potable standards, making them a viable alternative to centralized systems. Their suitability for decentralized sewage treatment eliminates the necessity of transporting sewage over long distances for treatment. Moreover, some of these systems can even recover valuable nutrients from wastewater, enhancing their eco-friendly appeal.

Covesta employs UV and ozone disinfection technologies to ensure the safety of water supplies. These proven methods effectively eliminate pathogens, providing clean and safe water for various applications.

Covesta's rainwater harvesting systems offer a low-tech and cost-effective solution for water supply, particularly when combined with decentralized recycling. By implementing rainwater filtration from roofs, we yield potable water with minimal treatment. Our affordable storage options have long lifespans and cost less than $2 per gallon, promoting sustainable water management practices.
